Florida Snow

It was 78 degrees here in Florida today, but can you believe...it snowed!

I made some pretend snow for my three year old son and he had a great time playing with it :)

I couldn't find a recipe online, so I just came up with my own after mixing a few different things together.

Recipe
1 cup of Baby Powder or Corn Starch
5 tablespoons of Baking Soda
3 tablespoons of Oil (vegetable, olive, or other oil)
1/4* cup of Water

I started out with 1/4 cup of water, but I added a little more because it seemed too dry. Just add enough water so it sticks together, but not too much or it will "melt". To test it out, make a ball, let it sit for a few seconds in your hand and if it melts, you put too much water. Just add a little more powder/water until you get it right.

My son and his friend had a blast making snowmen and snow-pie to go along with their grass salad. It doesn't take much to spark some creative thinking :)

If you don't have these ingredients, just use what you have. Don't be afraid to experiment. It really doesn't take much to make something awesome for kids to play with. Just some simple flour play dough can make for hours of fun!

What is your children's favorite homemade concoctions?
